The Drakes Creek Watershed Foundation is committed to restoring Drakes Creek, a vital waterway in Hendersonville and the heart of our “City by the Lake.” Over the years, debris, sediment buildup, and declining water quality have compromised the creek, threatening its natural beauty and overall health. Our mission is to improve water quality, remove debris, and restore Drakes Creek's natural habitat so future generations can enjoy this special resource. With your support, we can make Drakes Creek a source of community pride once again. Our first community clean-up effort will take place along the shoreline on October 25, 2025, in partnership with Cumberland River Compact. A larger water-based clean-up will follow shortly after, assisted by Cumberland River Docks.

Your generous donations play a crucial role in helping us restore Drakes Creek's natural beauty. Join us in our community clean up initiatives to make a lasting difference. Every dollar counts and brings us closer to achieving a cleaner, healthier environment for everyone. ALL money raised will be directly allocated to our clean-up efforts and projects.

Check the link below to the EPA for local water quality updates. Drakes Creek is currently labeled as impaired, which highlights the importance of community clean up efforts to help restore Drakes Creek and preserve its natural beauty.
